New Work: New Street, Aylesbury
TPM Studio has been appointed to design an affordable residential development on a former garage site in Aylesbury.
The commission centres on reimagining a previously developed commercial plot as a well-considered residential environment, using carefully selected housing typologies, scale and massing to establish a positive relationship with the surrounding urban fabric.
Working within a tightly constrained context, bounded by existing housing, a primary road, a public car park and a forthcoming residential scheme, the design approach addresses daylight, privacy and rights to light through thoughtful layout planning. The proposals deliver a mix of one, two and three-bedroom homes that respond to identified local housing needs while maintaining spatial quality and affordability.
