Work

The brief at Tolworth Primary School included the consolidation of the infant and junior buildings with a new central reception area.

The proposed scheme involved the refurbishment and extension of an existing link within the main building. Ceiling planes emulate the existing roof profile, exposing rafters and framing roof lights above. This provides much needed daylight to a number of central work areas, as well as a bright and flood-lit backdrop to the schools main entrance.

A hand-crafted timber reception desk screens the administration staff from the entrance space, whilst punctuating the neutral material palette with a warm contrast.
